Why you shouldn’t turn away now

I am sure you know that DEI is taking major hits from so many places and institutions and organizations are really feeling it. Yet, many of us are continuing to honor our commitment to do the hard work!

I am sure you, like most of us, are looking at the state of the world and recognizing when it comes to so many of the serious issues we are faced with, racism lies at the core.

Racism affects every area of life including mental health, physical health, education, housing, pregnancy and birthing, banking, criminal justice, politics, policing, agriculture, families, women’s issues, LGBTQIA rights and honestly if you can think of it, racism impacts it. Knowing all of this, in your heart and mind you also know that there is something more you can do.

I’d like to invite you to consider supporting our Anti-Racism work.

The On The Matter Of Race program was created five years ago by me, Dr. Lynne Maureen Hurdle at the request of two White women seeking to honestly learn about and take action against racism in the United States. We gathered a committed group of eight White people to go on our first six-month learning journey and now we are six groups strong and we are hosting our second annual live, in-person conference in world-famous Harlem, NY and we could use and would love your support.

Here are the two ways you can contribute to our anti-racism work:

  1. Your company can become a sponsor for our second annual Live and in-person conference here.
  2. You can donate to our conference and be listed as a contributor to our anti-racism work here.

On The Matter Of Race: A six-month facilitated journey toward open, meaningful, honest conversations about racism and taking action to address it, designed for White people. On The Matter of Race is facilitated by an African American mother and son team, Dr. Lynne Maureen Hurdle and Justin Hurdle-Price. It is currently offered from Level 1 – Level 5 with each group gaining historical knowledge, engaging in deep discussions, examining internal beliefs, attitudes and actions as well as taking action and learning from the experiences presented by guest speakers. We also offer two free online summits a year that are open to the public ,devoted to bringing together experts to teach and share their experiences on systemic racism and how it affects all of our lives.

On The Matter Of Race Live Conference: All of our work has been conducted online and last year we hosted our very first Live and In-person Conference in Washington, DC. This year we are hosting it in world famous Harlem, NY.

This Live event is an opportunity to meet other OTMR folks who have made the commitment to learn and do something about racism in the United States. Participants will learn from guest speakers including some of our very own OTMR participants.

Dr. Lynne Maureen Hurdle, Justin Nai’im Hurdle-Price and special guest speakers will take participants on a three-day journey of powerful and meaningful teaching, conversations, gatherings all meant to expand the OTMR six-month journey experience.
What better next step than to bring our work to Harlem, NY, a pivotal place in this country’s history on racism, culture and history to come together and build on the work that the On The Matter Of Race program has already been doing?
